KENZO BY NIGO
SPRING-SUMMER 2025 WOMEN’S AND MEN’S
RITMO KENZO: a journey into the free spirit of Rio de Janeiro. For the KENZO Spring-Summer 2025 Women’s and Men’s Campaign, Artistic Director Nigo captures the energy of Brazil, immersing the collection in its vivid culture and the dynamic rhythm of Rio. Shot across its iconic streets and beaches, the campaign brings to life the essence of Brazil through its lively animation, with each frame pulsing with the movement and freedom that define the city.
The campaign’s vision is captured through Johnny Dufort’s still photography and Frank Lebon’s moving imagery. Reflecting the cultural richness of Brazil, the campaign embodies the blend of influences at the core of KENZO’s vision. Nigo’s ability to merge heritage with modernity is mirrored in the vibrancy of Rio, where the collection resonates with the city’s lively spaces and coastal backdrop. This unique atmosphere comes alive through the imagery—capturing the fluid movements of capoeira dancers, the warm glow of sunset over Ipanema, and the infectious energy of beach life.
A celebration of freedom and unity, the campaign illustrates the connection between KENZO’s energizing designs and the soul of Brazil. Key pieces include the KENZO Chiku-Rin Camo, drawn from vintage kimonos and the house’s early collections, reinventing classic camouflage with a bamboo motif. Introduced in SS24, the KENZO Weave, a reference to traditional Japanese firefighter coats, continues its evolution as the house’s emblematic monogram, appearing across tailored silhouettes, textured denim, and workwear staples.
The KENZO Furoshiki bag, inspired by the traditional Japanese wrapping technique, features supple Italian leather, knotted and gathered in fluid folds. This season, a bold cracked leather variation adds a contemporary edge. The collection’s Embellished Mesh pieces, adorned with hand-embroidered beads and jewels, add a distinctive edge to fluid, summer-ready silhouettes.
