About

When Daniel and Sam Kalanderian were growing up in Sydney, they loved the trips with their mother to visit Sydney's architectural gem, the Queen Victoria Building.

Years later, when space became available in the QVB, they jumped at the chance to open their first shop. Supplying beautiful table linens at affordable prices, Mr Tablecloth was an instant success.

As store owners within the QVB, Sam and Daniel started to explore the place. When they discovered a huge space under the building being used for storage, the idea for Victoria's Basement was born.

From its humble beginnings as one of the smallest stores, this iconic store today occupies the entire south end of Queen Victoria's Basement and it is a treasure trove of the world's most famous brands on homewares and giftware. Famous dinnerware, cutlery & crystal brands like Wedgwood, Royal Doulton, Villeroy & Boch, Waterford, Royal Albert, Aynsley, Riedel, Nachtmann, Luigi Bormioli, William James, Benzer, Dan Samuels, Portmeirion & more.
